I identified gaps within the care and support industry and built Gentle Hands Home Support to provide people with the right support, at the right time, based on what they actually need at that point in their journey.
Our objective is simple: to enhance comfort, independence and quality of life while helping people remain safely in the home they love.
I firmly believe that not everyone needs a regulated care provider at the beginning of their support journey. Sometimes, people simply need trusted, reliable and safe support with everyday life — whether that is help around the home, companionship, shopping, appointments or maintaining their independence.
That does not mean safeguarding should be any less important.
At Gentle Hands, we believe that non-regulated support should still be delivered responsibly, with appropriate safeguarding, safe recruitment, boundaries and professional standards. People should be able to access support they can trust without feeling that their only options are to manage completely alone or move immediately into regulated care.
The idea for Gentle Hands became particularly personal to me after, while working for another provider, I became aware of a safeguarding concern involving a vulnerable lady who was reportedly paying more than £500 a week simply to have her grass cut and maintained.
That experience stayed with me.
It made me question whether there was a better way to support people — one that was proportionate to their needs, offered genuine value, protected their wellbeing and, most importantly, respected their independence.
That is why Gentle Hands Home Support exists: to provide the right support, at the right time, in the right way.
